I was just going through the pictures I took yesterday and noticed there were a few that I probably should have posted yesterday but were overlooked. Since it's better late than never, here are a few more pictures from yesterday, October 2nd.

Norman PD Bomb Squad prepares to enter the building.

Entering the building at 6:40 PM.

Bomb squad working to get explosives safely into trailer at 7:11 PM.

This isn't noteworthy enough to merit it's own post, but <a href="http://www.channeloklahoma.com/index.html">KOCO</a> and <a href="http://www.kfor.com">KFOR</a> are both setup down the street now. I'll have to setup the TiVo for both of their newscasts.

You do good work, Nick. Stay with it and keep us updated. Too many people want this story to die quickly. <br /> <br /> Thanks.

Nick, yes you are pretty inquisitive. However its not always the best thing to be out taking pictures of tactical operations. Its so funny. I had to move a person working as a reporter back out of a danger zone once. LOL she told me "I'm a reporter for such and such". I told her yes thats fine and Im responsible for this scene. I dont want you to get blown up. The press has no freed om to be any closer than the general public. So many folks think they have a right to know right when something is happening. If you want that then pursue a job as a bomb tech. Until then stay out of the way and don t make stupid valueless statements on your blog that attempt to be apologies. Just get out of the way. The feds were most likely investigating it because they were being proactive to eliminate any possibility of a terrorist attack. They have jurisdiction over any items transported across state lines to commit a crime should they wish to exert jurisdiction. There are apparent unidentified feds in your bomb tech photos. Those guys are working hard to make you safe. If they made reference to you it was because you did appear suspicious. Many people involved in a crime come back to the scene and document it or keep photos or other souvenirs. And it does not appear the bag you identifid was a suspicious bag. They werent handling it in that manner. I think it is an equipment bag also seen in another photo. It also appears to have an official agency logo on it. Also I think they used the term "Down range" its a military term used to designate a danger area or a potential combat area. Another word of advice, if you ever come upon an active tactical situation, do not photgrah the activities of the cops and then post it. Maybe the criminals have acess to the internet also . SO you might be endangering the cops. This area has been addressed on some movies, but its a good consideration for here too.

I was never in anyone's way, I never crossed the police tape or went somewhere I wasn't supposed to go. The local TV showed *exactly* the same things I did. You're more than welcome to ignore my "stupid valueless statements." Speaking of stupid statements, when did the methods of putting on a vest and opening a door knob become a top secret "tactical operations" that must be withheld from the criminals? Give me a break.

Nick, you should consider putting your copyright stamp in a less important area of the photos. Like way up at the top or way down below. When you put it right in the middle every time, it detracts from your photo -- blocks important elements of the picture. It's fine to keep your stamp, just put it in an area 'out of the action' so to speak.

The copyright stamp is distracting and prominent for a reason - it insures that my name isn't easily Photoshopped or cropped out. I'm familiar with several cases where newsworthy photos have been taken out of context or used by others for personal gain - I'm taking steps to make sure that doesn't happen with my work. After a quick glance at the photos, it doesn't look to me like anything noteworthy has been concealed by my name. The pictures aren't meant to be art.

Live tactical operations shown on TV or the internet could danger officers lives by showing "the bad guys" where the cops are. Take your break and watch Die Hard II. Don't be a smart ass just because you have a key board, think about what was asked of you first. You want to record history Nick not be a part of it.

Dear Carneyman - <br /> <br /> Who was posting "live tactical operations?" I certainly wasn't. The post you're talking about (which isn't even this one), was put on the web more than an hour after the device was removed from the apartment. Were you afraid that the guy would return from the grave, get online, read my blog, hop in a time machine, and and then detonate the remaining explosives? I didn't follow the bomb squad into the building and take pictures of them cutting the green and blue wires, I took pictures of them standing around a trailer and opening a door. <br /> <br /> Tip: when you're about to tell someone not to be a smart ass, don't lead up to it with a sarcastic remark.<br /> <br /> This is my personal website, therefore I can be a smart ass here if I want to be. I suggest you "take your break" and leave your poorly thought out, duplicate posts somewhere else from now on.<br /> <br /> Sincerely - <br /> - Nick Benson -

He you're right. You can even be an asshole. I was trying to explaine in simple terms for you what Skipper had already said. " Another word of advice, if you ever come upon an active tactical situation, do not photgrah the activities of the cops and then post it. Maybe the criminals have acess to the internet also . SO you might be endangering the cops."<br /> <br /> Huh the people inside the tape will tell you there were no wires. But then again you were on the outside where you need to be. Reporting not doing.

Dearest Carneyman - <br /> <br /> You're very good at dumbing things down, I appreciate the time you've taken to do so.<br /> <br /> He you're right, it's a good thing I wasn't inside removing explosives, seeing as to how I have no special training whatsoever, it would have been rather foolish for the "people inside the tape" (who you apparently know), to invite me in.<br /> <br /> To follow your compelling style, I think I'll copy and paste something else that has already been said to make this even more interesting...<br /> <br /> "This is my personal website, therefore I can be a smart ass here if I want to be. I suggest you 'take your break' and leave your poorly thought out, duplicate posts somewhere else from now on." This time I really mean it.<br /> <br /> Most Sincerely - <br /> - Nick Benson -
